The Ambulance Project is the funding organization behind a non-profit, Mexican civil association, AMBULANCE PROJECT OF LVES IN SUPPORT OF LUPITA COSIO BARRERA Y GRUPO SIERRA AC, that provides ambulance and emergency medical services to La Ventana, El Sargento and the surrounding area.
The Ambulance Project is a group of community volunteers who enjoy living in La Ventana and El Sargento most of the season.
We are working hard to raise funds to set up a sustainable system for covering all operational costs, including a salary and standard benefits under Mexican law for Lupita and her highly trained and experienced team, who have worked tirelessly for years without pay!
All money donated goes to paramedic team wages, fuel, maintenance, supplies, equipment and training.
We are counting on strong support from the foreign residents, visitors, restaurants, hotels and local businesses throughout the community. We are also counting on our local Mexican population which includes the Ejido members. We are working with legal specialists in La Paz to ensure that all donations received in any currency are in full compliance with Mexico’s strict laws on money-laundering, transparency, accountability, and reporting.
It takes a village!
ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL!

History
In the early days, some 13 years ago, our first public education program focussed on encouraging people to deal with their own emergencies as much as possible, because the Ambulance had almost nothing in terms of equipment or resources, and the volunteers had very little training.
After years of fundraising and contact-building, we managed to pay for both basic and specialized training, and regular refreshers for the whole team. They now have a defibrillator, oxygen tanks, epipens, IV supplies, and many other essential items that we had to fundraise for or solicit from other ambulance services in Canada and the States. Now, the ambulance really can save lives and reduce the complications from emergencies. It’s now a service that is worth making every effort to hang on to.
Your participation in the membership program enables us to retain our well trained and experienced paramedics.
